WEIMER'S BLACKSMITH & WELDING SHOP

In 1823...

Frederick Weimer came to Somerset at the age of 18 and set up his blacksmithing shop.  Starting with only a hammer and an anvil, he eventually  built the first of several blacksmith shops to be owned by the Weimer family.

Today, Wetmer's Blacksmith & Welding Shop carries on the tradition of six generations of craftsmen.  Much of the artistic iron work found in Southwestern Pennsylvania was crafted here.

The bellows and coal forge of years gone by have been replaced by modern equipment, but the tradition of fine craftsmanship continues.  Beautiful and strong, our work reflects an Early American heritage and provides our customers with pieces destined to become heirlooms for another six generations.
